Module 01: Growing as a Disciple
Growing as a disciple is at the heart of our approach to leadership development. Why? Because we long for our leaders to not simply be focused on activity for Jesus but, first-and-foremost, intimacy with Jesus. This is the first – of two – core modules of leadership.local (the second core module is "Leading from Strengths").
As you prepare for this workshop, it would be helpful to read—at least—chapter 4 ("Cultivating Spiritual Habits") from Rick Hill's book "Deep Roots of Resilient Discipleship". This book provides a roadmap for a lifetime of intentional discipleship, enabling you:
"to discover key principles and practices that contribute to a life of lasting faith one that is grounded in faithful discipleship but also pulsing with life and faith-fueled adventure."
During this workshop, we considered how each of us would like to grow as disciples. The homework is simply: "What’s one step you can take towards achieving this before the next Leadership Workshop?". This one step does not need to be overbearing! It could simply include:
