Internships

Raising up gospel workers

Internships at St Bart’s are an important way of enabling people to explore their interest and call to be a full-time or part-time church-based worker or minister in the future. Expressions of Interest for 2024 have now closed.

Over the past five years, our internships have aimed to people interested in exploring the potential to be a part-time or full-time church-based worker or minister in the future. To date, we have had nine local internships – all of which have been incredibly fruitful for the Gospel.

We’re so thankful to God for how he has been at work in these people, along with how the internship program has helped us as a church to grow in our understanding of the importance of raising up (and training) future ministers in a variety of areas.

Internships in 2024

The purpose of the internship is twofold: (a) to provide a development and discernment opportunity for the intern; and (b) to provide an additional ministry capability to a St Bart’s team. Interns work closely with one of the Ministry Team, contributing to a specifically defined ministry area (or combination of areas). Each intern should seek not only to contribute to their designated ministry area, but also to assist their supervising leader of their relevant department. Internships also include training opportunities, supervision, and processes for regular reflection.

We’re now inviting applications for our 2024 Internship Project. Internships run for 11 months (from February through to the end of December) and provide an opportunity for people to explore their potential interest and call to be a church-based worker in the future.

Potential interns can express their interest by completing the application process and identifying one or two specific areas in which they would like to work. Areas for internship currently open for expression of interest, include: Production (i.e., sound, lighting, video), Communications (i.e., website, social media, printed advertising), Music, St Bart’s Kids (i.e., Sunday school and Crèche, St Bart’s Kids Club, or mainly music), Youth, and Pastoral Care.
