Every one of God’s people are caught up in the most extraordinary purpose: to participate in God’s own mission. As followers of Jesus, part of the way that we express this—with our whole lives—is to make his final commandment our first priority. That’s why at St Bart’s we’re passionate about making and maturing disciples of Jesus for God’s glory. Of course, our mission statement as a local church is not the same as God’s mission. Nor do we expect that our mission statement will completely capture or encompass every aspect of God’s mission! The purpose of our mission statement is to help us as a people to increasingly direct and focus our action in service of God’s overarching purposes for the world.
