READ Matthew 28:18-20

  1. Do you feel included in the Great Commission – “to go and make disciples”?
  2. Do you feel competent (do you have the skills?) and confident (do you think you can do it?) to share the Gospel? How do you think you could become more competent and more confident?

READ Luke 10:1-4

  1. Why do you think Jesus sent out the disciples before him?
  2. Neil Hudson critiques Western Christians are being leisure-time Christians (that they only serve God in their spare time). Do you agree? Why or why not?
  3. Where are the three places that you spend most of your time each week? Have you ever thought about how these places are part of your frontline as a follower of Jesus?
  4. What do you think you would need to change in your life to recognise the ‘whole’ of your life as part of your following with Jesus? How could you encourage your brothers and sisters to do the same?
  5. How does the military connotation of a frontline relate to the work of evangelism?
  6. What is the role of prayer in being a disciple with a frontline? How must we be completely dependent on God as we seek to share the Good News with the world?
  7. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful”. Does this give you hope for your frontline work?
  8. Jesus also said, “the workers are few”. What are the barriers to serving on the frontline?

READ Luke 10:5-10

  1. What does it mean to bring peace to your frontline (v.5)? How can we apply Jesus’ command to “heal the sick” to our frontlines (v.9)?
  2. How can you this week more actively and intentionally use your everyday frontline as part of God’s mission to and in the world?

APPLY This Week: Where are the places you regularly encounter non-Christians?

Prayer
Dear Lord, we thank you that you have sent us into the world to proclaim the good news that Jesus is Lord. We acknowledge that the harvest is plentiful and we want to be one of your workers. Help us to identify our frontline so that we can be missionaries right where we are. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
