Why Christmas? Series Overview

January 12, 2021

The word ‘advent’ comes from the latin word meaning ‘coming’ or ‘arrival’. Advent is the season in which we look back to the first coming of Jesus (all that we celebrate at Christmas!) and look forward to his second coming when he will return to redeem and renew the world. This Christmas, we’re taking four weeks to intentionally prepare to celebrate the good news of Jesus’ arrival by considering the implications of his birth, life, death, and resurrection through the lens of some of the first believers. We’ll rejoice that it’s through Jesus that we can have a hope that’s real, peace with God, joy that completes, and love lavished on us.
