Last weekend was an amazing time of fellowship, prayer, and teaching at our FOCUS weekend away for 2023! It was so great to welcome members of all of our congregations together at Coolum. We heard three talks from the Rev'd Dr Wei-Han Kuan. You can watch or listen to the talks below!
"Our operating theology is often not what we read or say we believe, but what we’ve internalised in the songs we sing. I’ve sat with Christians close to death who have been too weak to pray or speak, but light up briefly to hum or mouth the words to hymns and choruses they’ve sung all their lives in church. The Psalms are the song book of the Scriptures! What do they help us to internalise about God, ourselves and the nature and purpose of our lives? How do we not just sing the psalms but also live and rejoice in them daily? In our three talks I hope to convince you to drink deeply of the Psalms not just this weekend away, but for the rest of your lives." Wei-Han Kuan
One of the simplest ways to delight in the Psalms is to read one (or more) daily. You might try a pattern of reading one psalm a night. Or try memorising one Psalm over a week (or month).
