Church Plant Update

August 12, 2024

As a church passionate about making, maturing, and multiplying disciples of Jesus, we’re committed to nurturing disciple-making disciples and disciple-making communities. As part of this, we’ve been praying, dreaming, and planning towards church planting in Brisbane since the launch of our VISION 2025 in March 2021. After many years of shared discernment and prayer, we were excited to announce on Sunday that Archbishop Jeremy Greaves (and regional bishops) have given permission to St Bart’s to plant in the area of Salisbury-Moorooka.

Whilst there is still much detail to work through and share, this new worshipping community will be part of St Bart’s (Toowoomba), sharing in our vision, mission, and rhythms of life together. We’ll be one church but meeting across two cities with numerous congregations, both in-person and online. We’re in the final stages of appointing a church planter and hope to have more news to share with you soon.
