From the Archbishop

“The early days of the Diocese of Brisbane were characterised by the missional imagination of faithful people who listened to the invitation of the Spirit and planted churches and built places for those churches to gather. It is some time since a new church was planted in Brisbane and I am excited about the prospect of a new congregation within the boundaries of a parish that had previously made the decision to close.

This initiative has come after much prayer, consultation and planning - with me, with the other bishops and with the people of St Bart's - and reflects the values at the heart of the Diocesan Vision for "Flourishing Faith Communities" of faithfulness, courage, creativity and imagination and comprehensiveness.

I hope that people across the Diocese will hold this new initiative in prayer, as together we wait to see what the Spirit will do in Salisbury Moorooka in this new season.”
