St Bart's is supporting the Red Shield Appeal by taking part in the annual door knock this weekend (24th/25th May). You may choose to be either a driver or a collector (or both!). This will be an opportunity to walk our community and meet some ‘locals’. Contact David and Bev Cowie for more information

Book Launch: “A Candle of Hope”

Vince Little is having a book launch for “A Candle of Hope” ($30) on 6th June at 6.30pm in our hall. The book tells the story of the ambulance project he founded in East Timor—the tears, joys and frustrations. Refreshments will follow. Vince is kindly tithing 10% of sales to our building fund.

Treasury of Songs 8th June at 2.00pm in our Church. $17.50 includes Devonshire Tea. Please invite friends to come it will be a great afternoon and all money raised will bless the underprivileged in Fiji that our Youth team will minister to in July. “End of the Spear” Movie

“End of the Spear” Movie premiering on the 28th May at 7.00pm at Grand Central. It tells of the true story of 5 missionaries who were killed for their faith by the Waodoni tribe in South America whom they visited as missionaries. It’s also the story of the testimony of their wives who demonstrated to them a different way of life, caring for them when polio came and  showing them something they hadn’t seen before—love forgiveness hope and a  purpose for life. Repertory Theatre Night

Repertory Theatre Night in aid of St. Jude’s School in Tanzania. The school has over 1,000 students from very poor families. The play is ‘Private Fears in Public Places’ by Alan Ayckbourn and is a comedy. $20 with supper. To book: Rosemary 4635 4078

An enjoyable Mulligan day was enjoyed by a good roll up but with the added difficulty of the testing back nine holes (10th to 18th) that brought most of the field back to moderate scores.
 
But there is always somebody who comes out of the woods and cleans up the field with a great score, mind you he used all the mulligans when times were desperate, I know as I marked his card. Great effort David.
