Over the weekend, we had the privilege of hearing from the Rev’d Dr Rory Shiner on the topics of, “Losing My Religion: Has Australia Lost God and Would it Matter if we Did?” and “Mission and Ministry in our Secular Age: How to Win and Ground Disciples of Jesus in this Cultural Moment”. Follow the links below to listen to the talks and watch three video testimonies from Saturday.
The Marriage Course is a fantastic seven week course for married couples who want to be growing in their marriage. Each night consists of a two-course meal, a practical video, and (private) time for discussion as a couple (there’s no group work!). Topics are practical and the course comes from Holy Trinity Brompton (in London) - the same church as Alpha.

We are really excited to be able to offer two more great Ridley Certificate courses that run over six weeks beginning on October 16. The other subject being offered is 1 Corinthians which is an amazing letter which speaks to us ask much today as it spoke to those in Corinth 2000 years ago. This subject is being offered at 7:30pm on Tuesdays.
St Bart’s Kids invites parents/carers to attend this session about establishing healthy Christmas traditions that help point our families to the real meaning of Christmas. Perfectly timed, this Workshop aims to give you a number of ideas that you can replicate and modify for your own family setting in time for Advent.
Our library has been an expanding resource as we seek to make and mature disciples of Jesus. Over the coming months, we’re looking to grow the team so that people can access books to borrow and purchase every Sunday. John and Elizabeth have been doing a great job and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more to help in this way. If you’re interesting in being part of this team, please let Adam know (email@example.com).
Next weekend (Friday night and Saturday) we will have the great privilege of hosting Bishop Cam's Western Lay Conference. This will be a really amazing time with keynotes on Serving, Evangelism, and Prayer. There is also a range of electives on: introductory courses to Christianity, pastoral care, music ministry, reading the Bible in church, leading intercessions, running small groups, and so much more.

Ridley Certificate Courses at St Bart's will be recommencing on Tuesday February 6. The Ridley Certificate is a great way for people of all backgrounds and levels of Bible knowledge to grow in faith and confidence in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In our culture, people often believe many different things about what happens after death. I'm often surprised at funerals by how common it is for people - without any real belief in God - to believe that a loved one is still somehow 'living on' in some euphoric state. Even amongst Christians, there can be a diversity or uncertainty about what to believe.
I’m really delighted to announce that in 2018, we will have the opportunity to welcome an intern – Michael Calder - onto the team at St Bart’s. Matching with our growing vision to be a training and resourcing church, an emerging model of interns (in the Diocese) is for churches to potentially offer paid ministry placements (two days per week) for some students training towards ordained ministry.
