With that in mind, on June 13 (6-7.30AM) we’re inviting medical and allied health professionals to join us for our first frontline breakfast with keynote by George Savvides (former CEO of Medibank).

Prayer Night May 13 with Meal

Prayer Night May 13 with Meal

We of course pray in many ways, but one of the special ways that we do so is together each term at our prayer nights. This year, we’ve been running these prayer nights a little differently, starting with a meal. After the meal, we have a focused one hour of worship and prayer, with interactive stations with various focus areas. These nights have been designed to be intergenerational and flexible. You can pray by yourself, in a small group, with no pressure at all to pray out loud. The evening meal will be at 5:30PM at a small cost of $5, with prayer starting at 6.30PM and finishing by 7.30PM sharp. We would love to see you there!

"How to vote Christianly" via Eternity News

With an election looming, the Rev’d Dr John Dickson recently published an article on “Eternity News” with some helpful thoughts as we discern what it means to vote in line with the Gospel. Instead of recommending particular parties or policies, John offers some helpful guidelines.

Easter Services Thank You (+ Talks)

Easter Services Thank You (+ Talks)

Sincere thank you to everyone involved in our Easter services who prayed, served, and joined us across the weekend. Over the course of a few days, we welcomed over 1200 people to St Bart’s and Picnic Point. There was such joy in journeyed through Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Day, as we were reminded of God’s great love fo rate world poured out through his son on the cross. We also rejoiced that just as Jesus has risen, all to who trust in him will be raised forever! There also have been some fantastic contacts made and some fantastic conversations about Jesus. Please be praying that the Gospel seeds planted may take root in people’s lives.

The Lean Family Featured on ABC News Online

It was great this week to read an article on the ABC about the Lean’s recent move to PNG. The article, “Doctor relocates young family from Toowoomba to work in PNG hospital as an expression of faith” is such an encouragement, particularly as we partner in mission with the family. You can read the article here.

What's Coming Up @ St Bart's in 2019?

What's Coming Up @ St Bart's in 2019?

In addition to our theme of Disciple Makers this year (you can read all about it here) and our 2019 calendar, we’ve got some exciting things in store in 2019.

2019: A Year of Disciple Makers

2019: A Year of Disciple Makers

In 2018, our theme focused on everyone taking next steps to grow in maturity as disciples. In 2019, we’re shifting the focus to disciple making! To help us with that, we’ve created a discipleship pathway (Enquiring, Beginning, Growing) that has a step for anyone, be they a sceptic or a long-term follower of Jesus. Part of our hope and plans is to equip every person in our church in the activity of one-one-one discipleship. It’s all part of our mission to make and mature disciples of Jesus for God’s glory.

Well, 2018 is not quite over yet, but our calendar for 2019 is now available. Please do pick up a copy and display it somewhere at home that is handy or download it here. Our theme (which we will have more to say about in the coming weeks), will be a ‘Year of Disciplemakers’. We have some exciting things in store for 2019, here are a few to note (with more info soon):

Christmas Service Times

Christmas Service Times

We'd love you to join us at St Bart's this Christmas as we celebrate God’s amazing gift of Jesus unto us! We will be celebrating two Christmas Eve services (6PM Family Carols and 11PM Traditional Communion) and two Christmas Day services (7.30AM Traditional Communion and 9.30AM Family Carols + Communion). These are always wonderful services together, giving great thanks to Jesus whilst also joyfully anticipating his return. If you haven’t invited anyone yet, it’s not too late!

Special thanks to the St Bart’s Kids team for putting together a special video for use at our Carols on the ‘Best Gift Ever’. A great and timely reminder of just how amazing the gift of Jesus truly is unto us.

Congratulation to Zoë on her Ordination

It was such a joy to celebrate the ordination of Zoë as Priest yesterday at St John’s Cathedral, Brisbane. It was also wonderful to congratulate Zoë today as she participated in leading our services for the first time as Priest! Please give great thanks to God and pray for her as she starts a new chapter of ministry (continuing at TACAPS as chaplain and at St Bart’s as Honorary Assistant Minister).

Congratulations to Jack and Maeve

Getting Involved with Carols by Glowstick

Getting Involved with Carols by Glowstick

It’s hard to believe, but our two nights of Carols (Tuesday December 11 and Wednesday December 12) are only a couple of weeks away! We’ve already had a tremendous response to our advertising, however now is the key time to get involved. There are three key ways to get involved.

Prayer Night Booklet

Prayer Night Booklet

On Monday night we had a wonderful time (with every generation and congregation represented) sharing dinner and praying for our church, city, and world. We gave thanks for 2018, prayed for 2019, committed our Christmas preparations to the Lord, and said sorry. If you missed it, you can download a copy of the prayer booklet and also check out some of the prayer stations on Sunday.

Carols by Glow Stick (Now on TWO Nights!)

Christmas is all about Good News of Great JOY and it's fast approaching! There’s no better way to get ready than some time of fun, laughing, carols, dressing up (children are welcome to dress up as angels/shepherds) waving glow sticks, and sharing in some delicious refreshments. Now on two nights!
