Mission Partner Prayer Points for SU - Centenary Heights

That more and more kids would feel comfortable to seek help from Chaplain, without warped perceptions of my role; That families would continue to reach out for support when there is a risk of separation (Cause this effect the teenagers as much as the parents sadly); That bullying continues to drop; That I would have wisdom from God on what to say and what not to say in hard conversations; That I would be salt and light for our School staff and support teams

Mission Partner Prayer Points for BCA

Mission Partner Prayer Points for BCA

Give thanks for the BCA organisation which has a vision to take the gospel into areas that for one reason or another have no ministers. Most often isolated towns with dwindling populations. Give thanks for the people who go into those isolated townships to serve with BCA. Living in the towns while preaching the gospel and sharing the love of God. Bless the finances of BCA that will enable them to keep teams in the field. Bless the leadership of BCA with wisdom as the recruit people to serve with BCA and bless them with the wisdom to be good stewards as they administer the finances and direction of the ministry.

FOCUS 2019

Thank you to everyone who was part of FOCUS 2019! It was an amazing weekend growing as passionate followers of Jesus in community. We’re so thankful to God for the ways in which he is at work and the for the phenomenal ways in which people serve on so many frontlines. The talks from the weekend (by the Rev’d Dr Graham Stanton) will be available on our website soon.

Mission Partner Prayer Points for The Lean Family

Give thanks for the wonderful welcome in Kudjip, friendships that the children have made, for the easing of security restrictions. Please pray for strength and encouragement as the initial excitement settles, for Dave and Mary as they learn the language, that the family will continue to trust that God is in control in the face of hard times

Mission Partner Prayer Points for Bishop Daniel

Pray for: precious time with family; for connections and support network to grow; for peace in South Sudan; for blessing on ministry projects; that the stolen documents be replaced. Give thanks for Bishop Daniel and Rachel's proclamation of the Gospel; Daniel’s safe return to Australia.

Two Employment Opportunities at St Bart’s

Two Employment Opportunities at St Bart’s

We have an incredible ministry and admin team at St Bart’s, and we’re currently inviting applicants for two roles to join the team. The first role, Assistant Minister, will be to replace David Browne as he leaves to take up leadership of Dalby Anglican in late June. The second role, Music and Communications Intern/Minister, will be to replace Michael’s role as (God willing) he will be ordained in early December and take up a position as Assistant Curate at a place determined by the Archbishop.

Prayer Night this Monday (Booklet + Register Online)

Prayer Night this Monday (Booklet + Register Online)

This Monday night, we will gather together as a church to express our dependence on God in prayer. Prayer is absolutely fundamental to who we are and what we do as a church; without prayer, we’re simply seeking to go ahead - or stray beyond - God’s own will and ways (we’ve been reminded already in our 1 Samuel series how perilous that is!). So Monday night, we will gather from 5.30-7.30PM (first to share in a meal from 5.30PM, and then to pray from 6.30PM) at St Bart’s. If you haven’t yet registered, please do so that we can ensure sufficient catering. If you are unavailable, you can download the pray booklet that will help give focus to our prayer on the night and this term.

Prayer Night May 13 with Meal

Prayer Night May 13 with Meal

We of course pray in many ways, but one of the special ways that we do so is together each term at our prayer nights. This year, we’ve been running these prayer nights a little differently, starting with a meal. After the meal, we have a focused one hour of worship and prayer, with interactive stations with various focus areas. These nights have been designed to be intergenerational and flexible. You can pray by yourself, in a small group, with no pressure at all to pray out loud. The evening meal will be at 5:30PM at a small cost of $5, with prayer starting at 6.30PM and finishing by 7.30PM sharp. We would love to see you there!

Appointment of Holly Adamson as Ministry Intern

I’m very excited to announce today that we (pending a licence from the Archbishop) have appointed Holly Adamson as an additional intern to minister specifically within the Children, Youth, and Families department, focusing on Friday Kids Club. Holly serves in a variety of ways at church and has a background in early childhood, more recently working as a nanny. This was a role that we had budgeted for 2019 to help support growth, so the timing is opportune in order to provide further support. Please be praying for Holly as she begins this one day/week role. You can also listen the interview on our website.

"How to vote Christianly" via Eternity News

With an election looming, the Rev’d Dr John Dickson recently published an article on “Eternity News” with some helpful thoughts as we discern what it means to vote in line with the Gospel. Instead of recommending particular parties or policies, John offers some helpful guidelines.

Over the course of a few days, we welcomed over 1200 people to St Bart’s and Picnic Point. There was such joy in journeyed through Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Day, as we were reminded of God’s great love fo rate world poured out through his son on the cross. We also rejoiced that just as Jesus has risen, all to who trust in him will be raised forever! There also have been some fantastic contacts made and some fantastic conversations about Jesus. Please be praying that the Gospel seeds planted may take root in people’s lives.
