Prayer Night this Monday (Booklet + Register Online)

Prayer Night this Monday (Booklet + Register Online)

This Monday night, we will gather together as a church to express our dependence on God in prayer. Prayer is absolutely fundamental to who we are and what we do as a church; without prayer, we’re simply seeking to go ahead - or stray beyond - God’s own will and ways (we’ve been reminded already in our 1 Samuel series how perilous that is!). So Monday night, we will gather from 5.30-7.30PM (first to share in a meal from 5.30PM, and then to pray from 6.30PM) at St Bart’s. If you haven’t yet registered, please do so that we can ensure sufficient catering. If you are unavailable, you can download the pray booklet that will help give focus to our prayer on the night and this term.

Prayer Night May 13 with Meal

Prayer Night May 13 with Meal

We of course pray in many ways, but one of the special ways that we do so is together each term at our prayer nights. This year, we’ve been running these prayer nights a little differently, starting with a meal. After the meal, we have a focused one hour of worship and prayer, with interactive stations with various focus areas. These nights have been designed to be intergenerational and flexible. You can pray by yourself, in a small group, with no pressure at all to pray out loud. The evening meal will be at 5:30PM at a small cost of $5, with prayer starting at 6.30PM and finishing by 7.30PM sharp. We would love to see you there!

Baptisms and Confirmations

Baptisms and Confirmations

At St Bart’s, we’re focused together in the making and maturing of disciples of Jesus for God’s glory. That means that we love to see people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, along with continuing to mature in that relationship for their entire lives. Baptism and Confirmation are important public expressions of our trust in Jesus. Whilst we can of course baptise at any time, we will be celebrating with special services on December 2, followed by an opportunity for Confirmation on December 16.

1000 Acts of Kindness Project

1000 Acts of Kindness Project

Today we begin our new series on ‘Winter Warmers’ exploring four very rare fruit: kindness, peace, patience, and self-control. We'll be opening up the Bible to explore what it looks like to be fruitful in godly ways as we seek follow Jesus. But we don't just want to explore - we want to put these fruit into practice! Therefore, throughout the series, we're aiming to collectively demonstrate at least 1000 acts of kindness in our city.

Men's Breakfast

Men's Breakfast

On Saturday, it was really terrific as the men got together for a great breakie and some encouraging stories of where to put our trust. Thanks to everyone who came along and for the wonderful effort from the BST Team! Andrew Prince (faculty member of BST) along with Peter shared some of their stories.

Baptism Sunday

Baptism Sunday

On Sunday April 15, we will be celebrating 80 years since the very first commissioning of the original St Bart’s, Toowoomba. Whilst the building looked very different back then, seating less than 20 people, our passion for Jesus and growing in relationship with God (known as a ‘house of prayer’) has not changed. Many faithful disciples have gone before us, and now we continue to seek to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ for God’s Glory. To celebrate this milestone, we’ll be doing three things: We'll be: 1) Having a celebration time after our morning services. 2) Thinking about what it means to be the ‘True Church’ as we finish our John series. 3) Marking the occasion as a ‘baptism Sunday’. We thought there would be no better way to mark 80 years, then to invite adults in our congregation - who have never been baptised - to do so on Sunday April 15 across our three Sunday services. If you're interested in learning more about baptism, please complete the form below.

Lenten Study (Truth & Glory: The Gospel of John) Guide Pre-Orders

Lenten Study (Truth & Glory: The Gospel of John) Guide Pre-Orders

Commencing on Sunday, February 4, we will be commencing a new series - Truth and Glory - exploring the final stories of Jesus in John's Gospel. This will be an amazing opportunity to look more closely at the truth of who Jesus is, the purpose of our lives, and the glory of Christ's death and resurrection. We'll begin in chapter 11 and then move through the second half of John in the lead up (and slightly beyond) Easter. To help us dig deeper into John, we're producing a Lenten Study Guide. Pre-Order it online.

2018: A Year of Next Steps

2018: A Year of Next Steps

I’m really excited that 2018 will be a year of ‘Next Steps’ for St Bart’s. With 2017 having been a really significant year (with the building being completed and so much more), we’re hoping and praying that we will all – as individuals and as a church – press further into our mission to make and mature disciples by seeking to take a next step in prayer, growth, evangelism, and serving
