Next Saturday, eleven students and one lecturer from the Brisbane School of Theology will be arriving to partner with St Bart’s for a week. They will be involved in a whole variety of ministries. Throughout the week, there will be three great events that I want to highlight.
Pray: For Greg Harris, new National Director of BCA, settling in to the role. For the churches at Lightning Ridge and Cloncurry, both without ministers at present. For wisdom for BCA in filling requests from Dioceses for field staff. For ordained ministers, and other Christians, to offer to serve for a time in remote places. For a new family to be appointed to Llightning Ridge, later in the year.

Follow the Clues takes the children on a fact-finding mission through the Bile, learning about the promises that God gave to his people through the generations. With the help of some 1920’s detectives and private investigators, the children will discover evidence in the Bible proving that God promised to restore our relationship with him, and that all of his promises across the ages were fulfilled in Jesus.
Pray for: Dave as he leads staff devotions in; teacher visa approvals to be processed; for Mary & 2 other mums as they begin to teach at the school; continued health for Dave as he recovers from recent illness. Praise for: Mary’s parents are arriving on Wednesday to visit; Dave being able to work without the help of a translator and progressing with obstetric skills.

Follow the links below to listen to the talks and watch three video testimonies from Saturday.

Our rosters for August and September (for 7.30AM, 9.30AM, and 6PM) are now available. You can download them from our website (also below) located under 'services', or if you would prefer, pick up a printed copy from Church. Thankful to God for the phenomenal servant hearts of so many people and their desire to serve God in the making and maturing of disciples.
I am delighted that we will be welcoming the Rev’d Dr Rory Shiner for our public lecture and teaching day at St Bart’s. Last year, we welcomed around 500 people to our public lecture (with around 50% from outside of our church). Please be praying that this year’s public lecture will also be a great opportunity to engage people to explore Christianity. It’s never too early to invite some friends along. Registrations are now open.
This morning Bettrys and Amy facilitated the next instalment in our ‘Purposeful Parenting’ workshops on “Actively Discipling our Kids“. The session focused on how to develop daily habits that match the rhythms of busy family life; the importance of regular discipleship within a community; and the role a parent/guardian plays in modelling strong discipleship practices in their own life.
Happy Birthday to: Collen Kluck, Jane Poole, June Southey, Denise Vincent, Elvie Dealtry, Nathan Luwong, Alex Wright, Joan Nimmo, Joshua Holder, Beau Le Dilly, Elvie Templteton-Ditchburn, Annaliese Goodall
