Purposeful Parenting - Actively Discipling Our Kids

On the July 28, come and hear how to disciple your kids with intentionality. We will talk about how to develop daily habits that match the rhythms of busy family life; the importance of regular discipleship within a community; and the role a parent/guardian plays in modelling strong discipleship practices in their own life.

Prayer Night May 13 with Meal

Prayer Night May 13 with Meal

We of course pray in many ways, but one of the special ways that we do so is together each term at our prayer nights. This year, we’ve been running these prayer nights a little differently, starting with a meal. After the meal, we have a focused one hour of worship and prayer, with interactive stations with various focus areas. These nights have been designed to be intergenerational and flexible. You can pray by yourself, in a small group, with no pressure at all to pray out loud. The evening meal will be at 5:30PM at a small cost of $5, with prayer starting at 6.30PM and finishing by 7.30PM sharp. We would love to see you there!

Baptisms and Confirmations

Baptisms and Confirmations

At St Bart’s, we’re focused together in the making and maturing of disciples of Jesus for God’s glory. That means that we love to see people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, along with continuing to mature in that relationship for their entire lives. Baptism and Confirmation are important public expressions of our trust in Jesus. Whilst we can of course baptise at any time, we will be celebrating with special services on December 2, followed by an opportunity for Confirmation on December 16.

Prayer Night Booklet

Prayer Night Booklet

On Monday night we had a wonderful time (with every generation and congregation represented) sharing dinner and praying for our church, city, and world. We gave thanks for 2018, prayed for 2019, committed our Christmas preparations to the Lord, and said sorry. If you missed it, you can download a copy of the prayer booklet and also check out some of the prayer stations on Sunday.

Baptism Sunday

Baptism Sunday

We are inviting adults, who have never been baptised, to do so on December 2. Additionally, if you were baptised as a child and would like the opportunity to publicly confirm the promises made on behalf of you, confirmation is a wonderful opportunity to do so on Sunday, December 16.

Next Steps this Week

Next Steps this Week

With the beginning of our new 1 Thessalonians series, we’re launching “Next Steps this Week” as one place to find all of our weekly resources connected with the sermon. This includes the sermon (audio and transcript), small group questions, the Bible reading, a prayer, other resources, and a family-focused activity. Simply visit nextsteps.stbarts.com.au on your phone, tablet, or computer to access a range of resources. We will of course continue to make printed resources available every week at church, but if you’re online, bookmark the next steps address so that you can readily dip in and out of all of the resources throughout your week.

Thank You + Story Videos from our John Dickson Events

Thank You + Story Videos from our John Dickson Events

Thank you to everyone who was involved with our duo of John Dickson events Friday night and Saturday. It was fantastic to welcome around 500 people to St Bart's Friday for our public lecture on 'For the Love of God: How the Church is both Better and Worse than you Ever Imagined'. It was a fantastic talk with a lively Q&A time. It was also so encouraging to see so many people stay afterwards for hot drinks and a chat. Saturday was also a fantastic day with around 250 guests for three talks on 'A Doubter's Guide to Jesus'.

1000 Acts of Kindness Project

1000 Acts of Kindness Project

Today we begin our new series on ‘Winter Warmers’ exploring four very rare fruit: kindness, peace, patience, and self-control. We'll be opening up the Bible to explore what it looks like to be fruitful in godly ways as we seek follow Jesus. But we don't just want to explore - we want to put these fruit into practice! Therefore, throughout the series, we're aiming to collectively demonstrate at least 1000 acts of kindness in our city.

In two weeks (on Sunday, June 24), we will starting a new 'Winter Warmers' series exploring four of the fruit of the Spirit (kindness, peace, patience, self-control). As we explore these fruit, we're hoping that we can also practice demonstrating them in our city.
