For Mary as she teaches in the school and the boys as they adjust to new schooling routines; that the teacher’s visas would be processed.
Pray for: David Rogers-Smith in the QLD Regional office as they manage and support teams in towns across QLD and North NSW; for missionaries to be to be found for Lightning Ridge and Cloncurry; for the faithful congregations in these places who are managing without a minister; for financial support to keep teams in areas where they are needed. Give thanks for: for the BCA box holders and the valuable contributions they make to funding the work of BCA.
Give thanks for the Support of the Middle Ridge School staff and parents; City Women who run Year 5 Girls programs; Donors and the Chaplaincy committee supporters. Pray for wisdom as Bev meets with children with challenging family and friendship issues; Comfort for a recently bereaved family; healing for children, parents and staff who are ill.
Pray: For Greg Harris, new National Director of BCA, settling in to the role. For the churches at Lightning Ridge and Cloncurry, both without ministers at present. For wisdom for BCA in filling requests from Dioceses for field staff. For ordained ministers, and other Christians, to offer to serve for a time in remote places. For a new family to be appointed to Llightning Ridge, later in the year.
Pray for: Dave as he leads staff devotions in; teacher visa approvals to be processed; for Mary & 2 other mums as they begin to teach at the school; continued health for Dave as he recovers from recent illness. Praise for: Mary’s parents are arriving on Wednesday to visit; Dave being able to work without the help of a translator and progressing with obstetric skills.

Pray for: the health of Chappy Kev and his wife who have been sick; for Kev to have God’s wisdom & sensitivity to the students, especially those who are troubled; health, strength and endurance; parent/carer networking morning teas, many families struggling with family break-ups. Praise God for the positive relationships with school executive and staff.
Pray for: safety for the family; that they will have Christian friends; to grow in their trust in the Lord; Rachel’s health; the people of Duk as many have had crops destroyed in recent heavy rains; sufficient food and also for health (as different diseases have broken out); the abducted and still missing children; healing for their families and safe return of the children; peace for South Sudan.
Praise God for: planting His word throughout the land, for many who now have faith in Jesus; for His faithfulness in sustaining BCA for the past 100 years. Pray for: reconciliation through Christ, especially with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; that God will continue to pour His Spirit on His church to reach Australia for Christ; that He will raise up labourers and empower BCA to be His witnesses.
Please pray for: patients in the hospital that they will know and experience the love of Jesus; that violence and abuse in the Highlands would cease; for wisdom and ability for Dave as he learns new skills at the hospital. Give thanks that Dave is making steady progress with the language and for recent rains that have filled our dry water tanks.
Please pray for the Lasting Hope Appeal for QLD CMS with $170,500 raised out of a target of $590,000, pray for more generous givers; for missionaries in South Asia who are experiencing difficulties obtaining the visas; safety on unsafe roads for missionaries; more people to hear the call to make their frontline overseas as well as at home.
Please pray that the man who stole Daniel’s documents would receive God’s forgiveness. Pray that God would strengthen them together in his love. Thanks for good and continued good health. Peace and reconciliation in South Sudan. Pray for the children who were abducted (51 are still missing). The Orphanage in the Uganda and 12 sponsored children.
Give thanks for the BCA organisation which has a vision to take the gospel into areas that for one reason or another have no ministers. Most often isolated towns with dwindling populations. Give thanks for the people who go into those isolated townships to serve with BCA. Living in the towns while preaching the gospel and sharing the love of God. Bless the finances of BCA that will enable them to keep teams in the field. Bless the leadership of BCA with wisdom as the recruit people to serve with BCA and bless them with the wisdom to be good stewards as they administer the finances and direction of the ministry.
Give thanks for the wonderful welcome in Kudjip, friendships that the children have made, for the easing of security restrictions. Please pray for strength and encouragement as the initial excitement settles, for Dave and Mary as they learn the language, that the family will continue to trust that God is in control in the face of hard times
Pray for: precious time with family; for connections and support network to grow; for peace in South Sudan; for blessing on ministry projects; that the stolen documents be replaced. Give thanks for Bishop Daniel and Rachel's proclamation of the Gospel; Daniel’s safe return to Australia.
On May 18 from 8AM to 4PM, there will be a BBQ and Cake Stall at Middle Ridge School Hall to raise funds for Bev Cowie in her role as chaplain. Bev is currently looking for any helpers throughout the day and any donation of baking, clearly labelled with a list of ingredients attached, would be very gratefully received.
