Mission Partner Prayer Points for The Lean Family

Mission Partner Prayer Points for The Lean Family

Give thanks for the wonderful welcome in Kudjip, friendships that the children have made, for the easing of security restrictions. Please pray for strength and encouragement as the initial excitement settles, for Dave and Mary as they learn the language, that the family will continue to trust that God is in control in the face of hard times

Mission Partner Prayer Points for Bishop Daniel

Pray for: precious time with family; for connections and support network to grow; for peace in South Sudan; for blessing on ministry projects; that the stolen documents be replaced. Give thanks for Bishop Daniel and Rachel's proclamation of the Gospel; Daniel’s safe return to Australia.

The Lean Family Featured on ABC News Online

It was great this week to read an article on the ABC about the Lean’s recent move to PNG. The article, “Doctor relocates young family from Toowoomba to work in PNG hospital as an expression of faith” is such an encouragement, particularly as we partner in mission with the family. You can read the article here.

Launch of 2019 Mission Partners (with special insert)

Launch of 2019 Mission Partners (with special insert)

At St Bart’s, we’re incredibly privileged to work together in the Gospel with various mission partners locally, nationally, and internationally. Each year, we prayerfully select mission partners to support and be linked with. In 2019, we will be supporting five mission partners (along with a special mission grant to Hearts for Africa). Our support for each partner consists of a combination of financial resources, practical help, and regular prayer.

Media Award for Bishop Daniel's Interview with the BBC

Media Award for Bishop Daniel's Interview with the BBC

A moving interview with Bishop Daniel Deng Abot, the Bishop of Duk in South Sudan, has won a major broadcasting award in London. The interview was carried out by Mike Wooldridge for the BBC World Service Heart and Soul series. Bishop Daniel (a mission partner and member of St Bart’s along with his family) was one of southern Sudan’s “Lost Boys”. After 15 years in refugee camps in Ethiopia and Kenya, he resettled in Australia with his wife Rachel and served as a priest in Queensland. But, after South Sudan gained independence, he felt called to return to his native homeland where he serves as bishop. Read the article here, and also listen to the interview.
