Welcome to Toowoomba Meal (Saturday, November 4, 5.30-7.30PM)

I'm very excited that on Saturday November 4, we are partnering with the Welcome Dinner Project to host a Welcome Dinner for members of the Syrian and Iraqi communities in Toowoomba. The dinner is designed to assist established Australians (people who were born or have lived in Australia more than 10 years) to meet and make friends with newly arrived Australians (people who have lived in Australia less than 10 years).

Interview with Suzie Ross

With the appointment of Suzie Ross as our part-time Pastoral Care Coordinator, this morning we interviewed her to hear more of her love for God. We also heard a little of what drew her to the role and the heart that God has given her.

Position Available: Children and Families Coordinator (0.75 FTE)

Position Available: Children and Families Coordinator (0.75 FTE)

We’re seeking to employ a part-time Children and Families Coordinator to oversee, lead, and grow the children (aged 0-12) and families ministry at St Bart’s. In recent years, St Bart’s has experienced a rapid expansion in the number of children and families involved in the life of our church. St Bart’s currently has 125 children as members of the church, and an average of 65 children (0-12 years old) involved each Sunday (but can be as large as 90). Each week, an additional 40 children (on average) are involved with mainly music and another 30 children with our Friday Kids Club. Children and families are a valued part of our church and require special attention.

Opportunities to Talk about Marriage

Opportunities to Talk about Marriage

Following our sermon this morning on 'The Question of Marriage', I'd love to discuss this more with anyone who would like to talk over this further. With this mind, I'm inviting anyone to come along to either of two sessions this week at which we can talk. This will be a great opportunity to hear other people's questions (depending on who turns up!) and lovingly explore this topic together. So please come along to St Bart's on either Tuesday October 3 (3-4PM) or Thursday October 5 (7-8PM)

Your 'Tough Questions' Are In!

Your 'Tough Questions' Are In!

Over the last few weeks we’ve been asking for people’s ‘tough questions’. There’s been some great questions and we feel so privileged to have received them. If you asked for a personal response, we’ll be in contact in the coming weeks (thanks for your patience!). The topics will be...

STAGE TWO Opening Service Thank You

STAGE TWO Opening Service Thank You

On Saturday, it was with great thanks to God that the Archbishop led our STAGE TWO dedication service. Over 70 people were involved in bringing the service together, with over 400 people coming along. Many people have commented on the joy of the service, the wonderful nature of the hospitality, the inspiring music, the significance of the speeches, the quality of the children's program, the encouragement of our Archbishop and Bishop, and so much more. Thank you to everyone who was involved!

Thank You from the Lowe Family & Welcome Giovanna

With great thanks to God, we welcomed Giovanna Claire Lowe into the world on Friday, August 18 at 4.31PM (3.65KG and 56CM long). 'Giovanna' means 'gift from God' and that she is! Thank you to everyone for your prayers and words of welcome. We're so thankful for this precious girl and that she is already loved by such an amazing community of Jesus followers at St Bart's.

Mission to Seafarers, Port of Brisbane 125th-Anniversary

For many years many people in our congregation and the wider community have been involved in supporting the Mission to Seafarers, by way of knitting beanies. The crews of the many ships that dock at the Port of Brisbane get to know that this is the place to come for a beanie for those cold nights on board ship in all kinds of weather at all latitudes.

Bishop Cam's Lay Conference

Bishop Cam's Lay Conference

Thank you to everyone who was part of Bishop Cam's lay conference on Friday night and Saturday. It was an encouraging time as LA's and Church Wardens from all over the Western Region gathered at St Bart's to be encouraged and equipped for ministry. It was also an immense blessing to welcome some of the delegates to worship on Sunday morning.

Article Featuring David Johnstone in Latest Edition of Focus

It was wonderful to read of our own David Johnstone in the current edition of Focus. The article details one of the many compassionate examples of how the pastoral care team at the Base Hospital seek to so lovingly care for people. Pick up a copy of focus from church.

Prayer on Wednesdays at 4PM

Prayer on Wednesdays at 4PM

Over the last few years, the prayer and healing service has been an important opportunity for people to be prayed for and bring real needs before God with others. As we’ve launched an evening service and had more opportunities for after- service-prayer (which has been very well used), it seems that fewer people have been coming along to the monthly 4PM service.
