Day of Prayer and Fasting for Children Abducted from Duk

July 8 has been dedicated as a day of fasting and prayer for the 56 people (55 children and 1 adult) abducted from Duk in South Sudan on November 28, 2017. Tragically, all 56 people abducted have remain unaccounted for. Please join in prayer and fasting for their safety and their safe return. Please also pray for their family who are experiencing great pain and turmoil. A prayer is provided below, with a list of the names of those abducted.

Almighty and Sovereign Lord,
God of peace, mercy, and justice,
We pray with the people of Duk and South Sudan,
for the safe return of the previous children abducted from Duk.
Please convict the hearts of their captors,
that they would yield to your will,
and return those abducted safely to their homes.
Assist the efforts of those searching for the abducted,
that these children would be rescued.
May the children know your presence at every moment,
being protected and kept from any form of harm.
Please bring comfort and peace to their families,
constantly guarding their hearts and minds.
Bring your justice and peace to this land,
and protect the hearts and lives of the vulnerable.
Help us to run to you, to lay our burdens on you,
and trust in your sovereign and saving power.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen
