It really has been a profound joy to welcome eleven students and a faculty member from the Brisbane School of Theology to St Bart's for their mission week over the last 8 days. Over the course of the week, they have been of great encouragement to so many, sacrificially generous in their service, and faithful witnesses of the Gospel. This morning when thanking them, I summed up some of what they have been doing like this:
In just one week, these students, have: Visited the sick, cleaned windows, organised the children’s storage room, sung, played, helped prepare and plan our prayer night, shared testimonies, helped facilitate our women’s coffee and dessert evening, cooked and shared at our men’s breakfast, sung at nursing homes, chatted to seniors at Symes Thorpe, come along to Anzac Day services, assisted at TACAPS, have done walk up evangelism in the city and at USQ, visited small groups, encouraged countless, and shared the Gospel with many. They helped at Kids Club, CHARGE, and mainly music. They have looked after kids, made training possible, and nursed babies to sleep. They’ve engaged people wherever they’ve gone, vacuumed and cooked endlessly, served whole-heartedly, smiled continuously, and shared the Gospel with everything they’ve got. They have been of extraordinary encouragement to me and so many.
Please pray for the students as they now return to Brisbane and continue in their studies. Please give thanks and pray that the Lord will continue to be at work in and through them for his glory and Kingdom. What a privilege to be partners in the Gospel!
