This Sunday we commence a new eight-part series on the Apostles' Creed. This ancient statement of faith finds its genesis in the teaching of the apostles and reflects some of the core elements of what we believe. But it's more than mere words! It is at the core of what we confess and believe, and has helped Christianity - across time - guard and hold fast to who God is and the truth of the Gospel. Together we believe. Please join us at any of our Sunday services (7.30AM, 9.30AM, and 6PM) as we explore and affirm this wonderful creed together. You might also like to read about the creed before we get started (see below).
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son,
our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
