This morning at both of our series we said goodbye to Ron and Crystal as Ron finishes up in the role of Pastoral Care Coordinator at St Bart’s. It was wonderful to pray for them both, share some gifts, and gather together for a BBQ after the services. They are both so deeply loved and will be very much missed! It’s always sad to say farewell, yet we are excited as we look forward to where God will lead them as they are called out. I’m so grateful to God for them both and the incredible ways in which they have served this community so faithfully over the years. Many have been so blessed by their ministry. Ron’s ministry in pastoral care has been significant not just within the immediate community of St Bart’s but also in numerous nursing homes all over Toowoomba. There have been wonderful teams of visitors, pastoral carers, emergency meal providers, and so much more built up under Ron’s leadership. We have so much to give thanks to God for! There has also been an ongoing focus on the training of people who have a great heart for pastoral care ministry. On a slightly different note, staff meetings will never be quite the same without Ron’s famous sense of humour!
Crystal has also served in so many generous ways in the life of our church including in prayer, small groups, and with various aspects of children’s ministry. I’m so grateful for them both and the ways in which God has used them so powerfully for his Gospel and kingdom. It is so exciting to think about all that God has in store for them, and how God will continue to use them for his glory. I know that all of us look on with great anticipation of ‘what’s next’ and earnestly commit to praying for discernment and wisdom. We also rejoice that whilst not in the same building, we will all continue to very much be partners in the Gospel.
