Getting Involved with Our Carols

Carols_2015.jpg

Last year we ran a mid-week carols early in December for the very first time. With much great thanks to God, the one-hour event was an incredible success with our building absolutely packed and overflowing! As a result, this year we have committed to running the carols on two consecutive nights (Tuesday December 8 and Wednesday December 9). The format of the evening is simple: one hour, lots of carols, a kids’ spot, and a short message. Afterwards, we invite people to stay for some fruit and fruit-cake. During the evening, we have the opportunity to point people to Jesus, form new relationships, and also promote our Christmas Services (along with other ministries). In short, this is an incredible opportunity to connect with people and help make Jesus the central focus of Christmas.

Here are some simple ways to be involved:

  1. Pray. Please pray that God will use these events to draw people to himself and help us to connect to people who might not normally be involved with church. Please also pray that having two nights will work well, and be (roughly) evenly distributed in attendance!
  2. Promote. Please take a bundle of flyers today and invite some friends to come along with you. It’s as simple as handing them a flyer and asking them if they would like to be your guest.
  3. Participate. We need lots of volunteers to help make these nights a great success. There are four teams: Music, Kids (helping provide costumes for the children) Welcoming (car park attendants, welcomers, and sidespeople), and Hospitality (to help share the refreshments). Would you please consider volunteering? If so, please use the clipboards in the foyer to sign up for one of the teams (on one of the nights).
