Last year we had the All Church Camp at Lake Perseverance in 40+ degree temperatures in November. This year it will be at the same place but on the weekend of September 11-13 with wonderful temperatures! We already have about 50 people registered, but we need to know numbers by Tuesday September 1 at the latest. This is for catering purposes as the weekend is fully catered. As in previous years, please organise your own dinner on Friday evening but it would be great if you could all be at the Recreation Centre by about 6.30pm to get settled in. Please register as you arrive and you will be directed to your room. The rooms have 3 double bunk beds in them – that’s six people and each has an ensuite. There are mattresses, but you will need to bring bedding, towels and everything else you would expect to need for a weekend away. Meals will be provided on Saturday for breakfast at the Centre, lunch at a secret location (just haven’t finalised where that will be yet), and dinner again at the site. On Sunday morning, breakfast is provided and we expect to leave about 11am or so.
The theme is “Fruit of the Spirit” and activities are planned for most of the time you are there including canoeing on Saturday afternoon. Last time there were a few "accidents" as canoes rolled over in the stifling conditions but maybe participants may like to be a little more careful in the not-so-hot weather.
Also bring your tennis rackets and joggers, though most of the sporting equipment will be provided at the excellent facilities.
No “Kids Club” or “Charge” on Friday the 11th as most people are going to the weekend away.
Please make sure you sign the indemnity form (you can download a copy here) for the children attending and again, please have your forms at the office by Tuesday September 1. Cost is $70 per adult or $140 for a family and can be paid by cash, cheque or direct credit to St Bart’s bank account (see the newsletter for details).
Looking forward to seeing you there.
