Operation Christmas Child is a wonderful project by Samaritan’s Purse that helps us be an enormous blessing to those in need. It simply involves putting together a shoebox with gifts (there are guidelines) that then goes to children overseas in poverty. The shoebox they receive is the first gift that many children have ever received! The treasures and personal letters inside communicate that someone cares for them and give them an opportunity to experience the love of God. You can be involved in three ways:
- Pack a box according to the instruction leaflet in the foyer (or available on their website).
- Contribute items for Charge Youth or Kids Club to pack. See instruction leaflet for suitable items.
- Donate towards shipping cost ($9/box) through the weekly Sunday offering at church in an envelope marked 'Operation Christmas Child'.
Boxes and contributions must be finished by 16th October, as they must be delivered to a drop off point for dispatching. For more information, please contact the church office.
