For some years now, members of St Bart's have enjoyed two days of inspirational messages from some of the world’s great leaders. No, there haven’t been many politicians, actors or people in the news headlines. However, there have been CEO’s of large corporations, people of limited means but with incredible hearts for the poor and outcast, Christian leaders and inspirational authors. All of them have a story and have been influencers. This is what the GLS is all about. It is two days at Hume Ridge church watching selected recordings of the Leadership Summit held at Willow Creek church in Chicago earlier this month. After each segment, a time of reflection and interaction takes place when we can discuss certain aspects of what the speaker has presented. Bill Hybels has held this conference at his church, Willow Creek, for many years, and each year the people of Toowoomba are invited to participate.
As in previous years, last year we purchased 25 tickets at the early bird rate of $119. While some people have already registered and paid, we still have a number of tickets unsold. Please contact the office if you would like us to reserve a place.
This year, some of the guests are Brian Houston, pastor of Hillsong church in Sydney and now worldwide, Ed Catmull, president of Pixar animation (looking forward to this one as it is a great organisation), Sam Adeyemi, pastor at Daystar Christian Centre in Nigeria and many more. It is an event not to be missed and is held at Hume Ridge church at 9.00am Friday October 9 and Saturday October 10.
