On Saturday April 25, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck an area between Nepal's two largest cities (Kathmandu and Pokhara). An estimated 8 million people have been affected with significant loss of life and enormous numbers of people displaced. Since then, an additional earthquake has struck the region and there are numerous agencies responding in the area. Please be praying for the people of Nepal and the families of those still missing. Pray also for the agencies at work providing support. With the ongoing nature of the disaster, many have asked if there are ways that they continue to give. Accordingly, here's some great ways to contribute towards the work currently taking place in the area:
- Tear is responding on the ground (through partners and integral alliance) providing relief support rapidly (including remote areas). Visit their website to give (Donate here: http://goo.gl/YEjWFj).
- World Vision have reached more than 29,000 people with emergency aid and has an extensive support operation on the ground. (Donate here: https://goo.gl/at9cjl).
- Red Cross are also responding and has reached 620,000 people with relief supplies so far. (Donate here: http://goo.gl/HXOyHH).
- ABM is providing resources for emergency relief for those affected (through a network of churches). (Donate here: https://goo.gl/bAXSZC).
