St Bart's Social Golf

For several years, a small group of dedicated golfers have met at 7.30am on the second Saturday of the month at Eustondale Golf Course. Not all players attend St Bart’s regularly, in fact, some not at all, but it is an opportunity to mix with friends and go for a walk together, occasionally hitting a little white ball. Everyone is welcome, male or female, golfer or non-golfer to join in the fun. Kevin (Digger) Donovan is the organiser and below is the results of Saturday’s game. “A good field of fifteen golfers hit off into a strong south easterly wind over the front none holes at Eustondale yesterday morning. The dry course and stiff crosswind didn’t bother Col Butler, who came in with a nett 28 to take out first prize. Ross Ford played honest golf to come in second on nett 30. Tania Jeffrey and Mike Dennison both recorded a nett 32 but Tania was awarded third prize on a count back, and because she is better looking. Warren Dutton took nearest the pin on No 5, and also had the least putts, needing only 15 over the nine holes. Col Butler took out nearest the pin on No 7, again proving that a strong headwind doesn’t bother him!”
